Rajkummar Rao lands dark murder-comedy before Sourav Ganguly biopic: new Netflix project

Rajkummar Rao New Film: Rajkummar Rao is in the news for his upcoming film Malik. Recently the teaser of the film Malik was released which was quite dangerous. Apart from this film, Rajkummar Rao is going to be seen in the biopic of cricket legend Sourav Ganguly. Meanwhile, reports are coming that before replacing Sourav Ganguly, Rajkummar Rao is ready to start work on a completely different project. The actor will be seen in a dark comedy directed by Aditya Nimbalkar. 

The shooting of the film will begin this year

In fact, a source told Mid-Day that Rajkummar Rao will devote two months to the Netflix film. According to reports, "It will be shot at 1 Aerocity in Marol and Film City in Goregaon, Mumbai. Rajkummar Rao has also joined as a co-producer. This is his second producer after Toaster". Another source revealed that, "The film offers a new perspective on the murder mystery genre, with a lot of bizarre elements. It is a black comedy. The makers hope to release it in early 2026".

Work is going on on Sourav Ganguly's biopic

For your information, let us tell you that the film on Sourav Ganguly's biopic is currently in pre-production. After Rajkumar Rao finishes Nimbalkar's film, he will start working on a biopic about one of the legends of the cricket world. The film, currently untitled, will show Ganguly's inspirational journey, from his early days to becoming one of India's most successful cricket captains. Major parts of the film will be shot in Kolkata and England, showing important stages of the cricketer's life.

Malik is an upcoming Hindi-language gangster action film with a gripping plot and a powerful ensemble cast. Rajkummar Rao plays a bold and layered title character in the film. Directed by Pulkit and produced by Kumar Taurani and Jay Shewakramani, the film also stars emerging talent Medha Shankar, former Miss World Manushi Chillar, and acclaimed actor Prosenjit Chatterjee. The film is expected to hit theaters in July 2025. The film Malik will release in theaters on 11 July 2025.
